Another strangely boring day at work. I really need new shoes...foodservice in a beat-to-death pair of totally flattened inside Skechers is just not a good long-term plan. x_x I did get to serve one of my awesome regulars, though, and I feel I should plug her awesome work: Foxtrot Designs, from whom I am terrified to even ask what the pens would cost, though I really, really want one. DDDDD: She always carries several with her and threatens to bring a bunch in to show me at work someday. I'm sure it would be my downfall.

Every Wednesday in summer, there's been a live band in the park just behind the house (there are also redwoods behind the house, and they are huge, and I stand there and stare up them going @_@! until Ehru thwaps me for being silly). They're currently absolutely rocking the face off of a cover of Texas Flood. This would be better if I weren't tired and reveling in how it's quiet, dark, and cool indoors. *Fails*

I'm making salmon cakes, couscous, and steamed asparagus for dinner. GUYS WHEN DID I TURN INTO SUCH A HOUSEWIFE? NO REALLY I SUCKED AT BEING ONE WHEN I WAS ONE AND THEN I GOT DIVORCED AND NOW I'M AMAZING AT IT WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN

In less weirdly domestic news, I sort of have a story in my head, and I sort of banged out the first chapter, but I'm unconvinced that it's worth pursuing because I'm not sure it's going to be interesting at all as a written work. I'm afraid it may secretly be a graphic novel or even worse, some sort of survival horror game. Though that makes it very tempting to attempt to write it up as some sort of extremely simplified single-player tabletop game...meh. I can try to explain better if anyone's interested I suppose. I'm not really feeling it.

Also, am I the only one who thinks Firefly is OK but not the most amazing amazing to ever amaze an amazing? I like Kayleigh alright and cannot stand Jayne but that's really about it. The background music keeps reminding me of a super awesome Deadlands game that one of my friends ran back in Japan and maybe that's part of why I keep getting distracted. I just cannot seem to watch it without having something else to do on my netbook at the same time.

...It's definitely time to shower and give myself a crazy mad foot massage before I die.
